Cross Border Difficulties
The vast majority of the suppliers and manufacturers working with Storeitfoods.com are U.S. based, and, as we utilize "factory direct" delivery methods, this means the products you receive at your door or from the local post office or local UPS or FedEx facility came to you directly from one of those sources. This normally works quite well, eliminating costs for us so that we can charge you less. You are subject to GST (and occasionally customs duties) when that package crosses the border, but most people consider that to be but a minor inconvenience.
Unfortunately, there are a minority of cases when "factory direct" is not an option for our Canadian deliveries. Customs regulations for food products, for instance, can make cross border shipments difficult if not impossible. There might also be the potential problem of distribution rights that can arise. Whatever the case, this places Storeitfoods.com in the position of having to make alternate delivery arrangements for you.
Fortunately, in a great many instances this is possible. Working through authorized Canadian distributors of the these products the likelihood is great that we can still arrange to get your order to your door.
The advantage: You get your order, and you will not have to pay any customs duties (which have already been paid and now would be incorporated as a part of the price).
The disadvantage: We may now have to charge you GST (which you would have to pay to Canadian customs anyway) and there may be surcharges to cover any added expenses incurred.
If there are surcharges (and that may not always be the case) you would be advised by email and invited to pay whatever extra fees would be involved. You would, of course, be given the option of canceling the order and receiving an immediate and full refund should you decide against making any additional payments.
Please be aware that our website prices are in US dollars and not in Canadian funds.
Product lines that we know would necessitate making these additional arrangements include Lindon Farms Foods, Wise Foods, Nutristore products, and WonderMill.
