In low light conditions, for instance, you want your flashlight easily accessible. You don't want to root through your backpack in the dark is search of that particular piece of survival gear. |

A 72 hour kit does not necessarily have to be placed into a backpack. There are all sorts of containers available - fanny packs, tote bags, sports bags, honey pails and even cardboard boxes (not recommended). The backpacks and cooler bag, as carried by Store-It Foods, however, are lightweight, durable and easily transported. There would be no difficulty in using them for camping and hiking, but they have been clearly labeled as survival packs, and are presented to you for use as such.
