"Free" Shipping

If you are shopping online, someone somehow has to pay to get your purchases to you.  There is no avoiding it.  Shipping companies charge.  There are, though, many online merchants who offer to pay those charges for you.  The truth is, high shipping fees are traditionally one of the major reasons for which people make the decision not to purchase online.  "Free shipping", then, sounds awfully good.

Shoppers should not be too surprised, however, to learn that in such cases these shipping expenses are actually built into the cost of the product.  It is a necessity.  Your local retailer in his or her traditional "brick and mortar" store certainly does it.  No one can stay in business for long if they lose money on every item that they sell.  And large, heavy, bulky items can sometimes prove to be rather expensive to ship.

Store-It Foods generally does not offer free shipping.  Yes, there are exceptions.  Our dehydrator and dehydrator accessories, for instance, are shipped within the Continental United States on a "free shipping" basis.  Possibly it would be more accurate to call it "shipping included" as that is really a more accurate term than "free shipping", but the end results are the same.  For the most part, though, shipping and handling is charged separately, and that is something of which we wish our clients to be aware as they shop the Store-It site.

Do we advise you to avoid those sites that offer that so-called "Free Shipping?"  Certainly not.  This is an honest and legitimate way of presenting a product.  There is nothing underhanded about it.  We have simply chosen a different path. At Store-It Foods we feel confident in saying that, "free shipping" or not, we offer products of high quality at very reasonable, very competitive prices.  Shipping is not a money making endeavor for us.  It is simply a cost of doing business.  It is usually shown as a separate expenditure so that our customers can have an honest and realistic idea as to where their money is going.
