Flu Infection Protection
These particulate respirators filter out many chemicals. The masks are even recommended for use as protection against a pandemic flu outbreak such as Avian Influenza or Bird Flu. They are NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) approved, and go above and beyond the very basic nuisance dust masks many use for survival kits. This is particularly important during disaster situations since dust and other contaminants are much more likely to be in the air. The N95 disposable dust masks as provided by Guardian are also thicker than other N95 masks though they remain lightweight and comfortable to wear.
