The Green Star Soft Fruit Attachment or Outlet Adjusting Knob (soft) is an optional attachment for your Green Star Juicer. It will prove to be very handy, however, if your twin gear juicer is to be used for a considerable amount of "soft" fruit. Actually, the Green Star Juice Extractor comes complete with a pressure adjustment mechanism which is designed for quick and easy pressure adjustments so as to handle a wide variety of produce without jamming or sticking. As might be expected, different types of produce require different levels of pressure within the juicing chamber for most efficient processing. Harder vegetables, carrot being the best example, require higher pressure in order to maximize the juice extraction from the pulp. Products such as leafy greens and wheatgrass require less. That should be lessened even more for soft fruits. It is possible to use only the outlet adjusting knob that comes with the machine, but do expect less efficient handling of those softer fruits. Pulp will likely be wetter than desired, with juice yields somewhat reduced. The soft fruit attachment has a softer spring, allowing the pulp to pass more freely through the juicing chamber. The end result is easier and more efficient juicing of such things as melons, pears, plums and citrus fruit. Fits Green Star Models (May not be exactly as illustrated.)
