Designed to be used with the Waterwise 8800 Water Distiller
Waterwise 8606 Post Filtration Bags are not a part of the water distillation process, but they are a part of the water purification process. Post filtration is used as a final treatment to effectively remove VOCs (volatile organic chemicals). It significantly reduces trihalomethanes, synthetic organic compounds such as pesticides and hydrocarbons, and petrochemical byproducts such as benzene, toluene, and methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE). In short, the post filtration bag is designed to remove contaminants that may carry across in the steam. Carbon post-treatment ensures high purity water after the distillation process is completed. In the case of the Waterwide 8800 the filtering units are located in the lid of the carafe, and an electronic indicator can be used to gauge replacement times. The Carbon Filter Indicator shows four status bars to indicate filter life. Four bars indicate a new filter and zero bars indicate that filter needs to be changed. In addition to bars the “Filter” indicator will flash in the display when filter needs to be removed and replaced. The filter bag normally should be replaced every two to three months. Replace more often should the distilled water begin to have an unwanted taste or odor. Each replacement kit contains six post filtration bags.
